Bach-Thuan Bui

About Me

Founding engineer at Coolant, San Francisco. I do Structure from Motion, Visual Localization, Gaussian Splatting, and train the deep networks that hold it all together — currently to reconstruct forests in 3D at centimeter accuracy from cheap drone footage. I received my Ph.D. from Ritsumeikan University, Japan (Sept 2025), advised by Prof. Joo-Ho Lee, where I built neural scene representations that let a camera relocalize without storing the 3D map at all.
